It is the kind of place where you could spend a most relaxing few days just chilling and making the most of what it has to offer and seems to be almost too good for tourists with a hectic agenda. The facilities are amazing and we made use each evening of the lovely pool although we had little time for much else. The other point worth mentioning about the room is that the bathroom is huge with a relatively small shower which appears to have been fitted in the toilet as an afterthought it felt as though there should have been a state of the art shower in there to match the rest of the room.
The innkeepers parents guide windows#
The windows wrap around the room but the glass is not the kind where you can see out and no-one can see in so it could be embarrassing and we wouldn't really want to spend our visit with the blinds down all the time just in case. Luckily there was only one other couple on the far side of the Inn so we didn't have the possible issue of people looking into our room from the outside seating area.

We stayed in the Generals quarters which is a large room with the most comfortable bed and windows overlooking the outside lake and garden. We never really got to meet their daughter and only said Hi to her husband one night as we returned from dinner - thought there maybe would have been more of an interest in our stay from him. We can only echo the sentiments of other guests about the ideal location the lovely rooms and the Innkeepers parents who were so nice and so very helpful. The Inn at White Oak ha set the bar and we don't think anywhere else could measure up! The hospitality was not what we have experienced before and we truly felt like we were returning to visit old friends. The heated indoor pool was spectacular! The owners even made fires for us while swimming in the big rock fireplaces on either end of the room! We had homemade pumpkin pie and cookies for dessert and the breakfasts were the best we have ever had anywhere.
The innkeepers parents guide movie#
The full spa, movie theatre, tea room, parlor, billboards and game room were so inviting and comfortable and we actually felt welcomed to enjoy using them. The grounds are gorgeous and we relaxed by the ponds and koi.

The suites were even more spacious and beautiful in person! The views are incomparable.

We were given a map to explore the Inn and grounds. The feeling you get when you've pulled in to visit old friends, the innkeepers greeted us on the drive in! We were warmly welcomed, given a full tour of the perfectly clean, perfectly beautiful mansion/Inn. We booked at the Inn at White Oak for its location, big beautiful suites, heated indoor pool and full on site spa, but what we found was so much more that can't be found anywhere else. The breakfasts are worth coming here for alone.they are amazing and Jillian made every course each morning different, delicious and even beautiful to look at! Her pecan pie muffins are to die for I wish the Inn at White Oak delivered! The hospitality was so amazing and genuine and we will spread the word that the Inn at White Oak is by far the most amazing inn we have ever been to! We will be back as often as we can! Thank you Sam, "Mom and Dad" and Jillian Downs for such an amazing visit! My husband and I were blown away by our recent stay at the Inn at White Oak! We had read all the rave reviews, toured their lovely website and had even heard about this Inn through friends but we were blown away by the Inn and hospitality in person! The guest rooms are huge and comfortable, clean, gorgeous with amazing views! All of the common areas are so inviting and comfortable! My husband and I had a couples massage in the spa and loved every minute, it was so relaxing and beautiful! The indoor swimming pool was so amazing and the rock fireplaces burning made it even more romantic and memorable.
